Bridal Portraits at Lacee Meadows Wedding Venue | Why Every Greenville Bride Should Schedule One Before the Wedding

One of my favorite traditions is the bridal portrait session. It's a chance to slow down, celebrate this exciting season, and create breathtaking images without the time constraints of a wedding day.

This beautiful bridal session took place at Lacee Meadows, the same stunning venue where our bride later said "I do." Holding the bridal portraits at the wedding venue allowed us to explore all of the property's most picturesque locations before the big day—from the romantic architecture to the open fields and beautiful natural light that make Lacee Meadows one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the Upstate.

If you're planning your wedding in Greenville, Greer, Spartanburg, Travelers Rest, Easley, or anywhere in Upstate South Carolina, here are three things I always encourage my brides to do for their bridal portrait session.

1. Have Your Hair and Makeup Done by Your Wedding-Day Artist

This is probably the most important piece of advice I can give.

Your bridal portrait session is the perfect opportunity to do a full "dress rehearsal" for your wedding day. Having your hair and makeup completed by the same professional who will be styling you on your wedding day allows you to:

  • See exactly how your complete bridal look photographs.

  • Make small adjustments before your wedding if needed.

  • Test how your makeup looks in natural light, flash photography, and sunset portraits.

  • Feel confident knowing you'll love your look on your wedding day.

Many brides discover they want slightly softer curls, a little more volume, or different lipstick after seeing their portraits. It's much better to make those decisions before your wedding instead of wishing you had changed something afterward.

2. Invest in a Bouquet That Closely Matches Your Wedding Bouquet

A bouquet can completely transform your bridal portraits.

While it may be tempting to save money by using artificial flowers or a small practice bouquet, I always recommend investing in a bouquet that closely matches what you'll carry down the aisle.

Why?

Because these portraits often become:

  • Large canvas wall art

  • Wedding albums

  • Framed gifts for parents

  • Social media announcements

  • Prints displayed at the wedding reception

A beautiful bouquet elevates every photograph and creates timeless images that blend seamlessly with your wedding gallery. Years from now, no one will remember the cost of the bouquet—but everyone will notice how stunning your portraits look.

3. Choose Your Wedding Venue for the Session

Since this session took place at Lacee Meadows, we were able to explore every corner of the property without worrying about a wedding timeline.

On your wedding day, we're focused on your guests, family portraits, the ceremony, and making sure everything runs smoothly. During a bridal portrait session, we have the freedom to:

  • Photograph in multiple locations

  • Wait for the perfect sunset

  • Capture dramatic veil images

  • Create magazine-worthy portraits

  • Experiment with creative lighting

By the time the wedding day arrived, our bride already knew exactly how to pose, where the best light was, and felt completely comfortable in front of my camera. That confidence shows in every photograph.

Why Bridal Portraits Are Worth It

As a wedding photographer serving Greenville, Greer, Spartanburg, Anderson, Easley, Travelers Rest, and all of Upstate South Carolina, I've seen firsthand how much less stressful wedding days become when brides have already experienced wearing their dress, carrying their bouquet, and working with their photographer.

There's no pressure.No rushing.No timeline.

Just beautiful portraits that celebrate you.

Bridal portraits also give us the opportunity to create artwork that simply isn't possible during the fast pace of a wedding day. From dramatic veil shots to elegant editorial portraits, these images often become my clients' absolute favorites.

If you're planning your wedding at Lacee Meadows or another beautiful Greenville-area wedding venue, I highly recommend scheduling a bridal portrait session several weeks before your wedding. You'll not only receive gorgeous images but also enjoy peace of mind knowing every detail—from your hair and makeup to your bouquet and gown—has already been perfected.

If you're looking for an experienced Greenville wedding photographer who will guide you through every step of the planning process, from engagement photos to bridal portraits and your wedding day, I'd love to help create timeless images you'll treasure for a lifetime.

I believe every bride deserves to feel confident, relaxed, and absolutely beautiful before she walks down the aisle—and a bridal portrait session is one of the best ways to make that happen.
